From here begins the building of the visible parts of the decks, which are made of holly planks, to remind the clear color of the real decks.
The first battery deck was planked with full-length planks, but here, the real layout of the planks has to be respected. The Mondfeld book gives this historically correct and nice solution.

The central and visible part of the 2nd battery deck, which lies between the forecastle and the poop deck (also called the waist), is covered with holly wood planks that fit the disposition above. Aboard the real ships, the planks measured 6 meters in length and 29 to 36 cm in width. At a 1:75 scale, the dimension of the planks would be 8 x 0.5 cm.
Little black paper strips representing the caulked joints are placed between each holly wood planks, which are themselves glued on a 1 mm plywood base.
The invisible parts of the deck are also planked with holly, but without any particular disposition.
The waist also received the longboat and its supports, which are set on several gratings. At each extremity of these gratings, are four ladders which lead to the first battery deck.
